People are doing Smart TV interfaces wrong.
On Desktop and Touch, thanks to Fitt’s Law, you get to put always-reachable stuff in the corner, like Control Center on iOS or the Start button on Windows 95.
However, on Smart TV, where pressing the four arrow buttons on the remote are the only interactions available, reaching “the corner” requires the user to hit up or left repeatedly and lose the main context in the process.
(This has been a complaint filed against all Apple TV apps.)
